How would you like to offer an additional Sunday school class with topics that can reach this generation? The class can last several years, with students meeting once a week. The class will deal with issues that go beyond your standard Sunday lessons. The sessions can be held for young adults or adults and can be held during a weekday, as well. We held a successful class for a time span of about two years with a qualified teacher and counselor. The book used for the class is entitled: “Man’s Question, God’s Answer. The author is Lu Ann Bransby. Some topics includes:

Phobias
Runaway Kids
Loneliness
Evil Thoughts
Anger
Insomnia
Flirting
Body Worship
Excuses
Pornography
Alcoholism
Selfish/Stubborn

There are 200 topics and 5,000 related scriptures in this power-packed book. You can find the book at your local bookstore or at Amazon’s online bookstore by clicking on the following text:

A Report Card for Teachers-In-Training (Handout)

WILL YOU BE OFFERING A CLASS FOR YOUR TEACHERS-IN-TRAINING? They would love to have something written, showing them their strengths and weaknesses. Or…maybe you would like to offer your current teachers a report so they can gauge how they are doing.

To get started, have a meeting and hand out a card to all teachers and explain each entry. Tell teachers that the superintendent or a representative will plan to visit his/her class and grade them on their abilities. After the class is over, they will receive a copy of the report. Make yourself available to each teacher to talk about their grades. You will find the card is based on Elder Mike Wilson’s “The Seven “Ps” Of Effective Teaching”:

1- Personal Teaching
(teaches out of experience; can identify with the biblical author)

2- People-oriented Teaching
(mindful of ministering to people)

3- Purposeful Teaching
(able to reach definite goals in teaching)

4- Protective Teaching
(doesn’t allow class to drift)

5- Persuasive Teaching
(has ability to influence the thoughts of students with the Word of God)

6- Powerful, Repetitive Teaching
(ability to repeat points without boring class)

7- Progressive Teaching
(teaches with movement, like a good story)

The sample card was created with 4 cards on an 8.5 x 11 sheet.
After printing the cards, they need to be cut into fourths.

You will find a sample of a Teacher-In-Training Report Card below:

Introduce Your Sunday School Class With Invitation Cards!

Ask your financial committee to cut a check for 25.00 to create 500 business cards for your class(es). Hand them out to students who, in turn, will write their teachers name down on the card and give them to visitors of your church services. Instruct your students and teachers to “blitz” new faces, inviting them to attend your class. Giving these cards as invitations can be effective if enough students approach the same people at different times.

Materials for Saturday Night “Live”

The ICEA staff has scoured the Internet!
We have found a website that offers FREE
Sunday school materials (along with
commentaries) that can be read on your
device or printed to make handouts.

THESE MATERIALS ARE BASED ON THE
INTERNATIONAL BIBLE LESSONS

The scriptures are basically the same
as Union Gospel Press but the headings
may differ somewhat.
We use very similar material on the ICEA
Saturday Night Sunday School
phone conferences.

Click the text below to go to the website:
http://www.ouosu.com/IBLC/KJV.html

Once you are on the website, here are some options you have:

OPTION 1: Click on the abbreviated bible version text on the brown band. This band is near the top of the page. As an example…if you click on KJV; this will display King James Version scriptures from the bible.

OPTION 2: You may scroll down the page to see full verses and a commentary of those verses.

OPTION 3: You may click on the text in blue to print out the Sunday school lesson.

Explore the website for a wealth of Sunday school resources.

This is a very good website, but watch out for some of the advertisements that are displayed throughout the pages.

PLEASE NOTE:
(The PCAF ICEA is not in any way affiliated with the website above.
At the bottom of their webpage they state that permission is granted,
but the materials should not be used for profit.)
